The Pharmaceutical Society Of Malawi(PHASOM),Central region held a conference at MCHS on supervisory roles of Pharmacists in medicine stores
Pharmacists for the Central Region held their conference at Malawi College Of Health Sciences on 27th May 2017. Among other things discussed was the supervisory roles of pharmacists in medicine stores. Supervising pharmacists are expected to ensure among other things that medicine stores have procedures for :
1. Ordering and recording medicinal products
2. Procedures for storing medicinal products
3. Procedures for disposing off medicinal products in a safe and effective manner
4. Arrangements to apply during the absence of a nurse.
5. Arrangements to be taken when there is a change of a nurse or supervising pharmacist
6. Procedures for keeping of records
7. Procedures to be followed when a complaint is made against a medicine store
8. Pharmacists are required to sign in supervising pharmacist record on the work done during supervision.
